A pencil drawing by Jenny Baez Barrueto of a woman desperate and reaching out for help because of domestic violence and abuse by her Husband.
Domestic abuse problems seem to be pervasive in every community. And the sad thing is that most of it is hidden... Generally, other people don't see the pain and hurt that most victims suffer and experience.

Beautiful and emotive drawing, Ronald! No coincidence on the Light significance in your composition and the metaphor it holds in your description! ...this century is seeing the numinous light arising from darkness in all forms of pain from recesses less explored in previous times. Courageous work! L/F
Ronald Osborne replied:
Thank you so much for your lovely kind words Laurel.

Congratulation on your contest win ! It is an excellent drawing - and a sad, dramatic depiction of the inexcusable disrespect and violence too many men still have and perpetrate against women.

Thanks AnnaJo, really appreciated. This drawing covers a wide variation of sad emotions, especially when someone is crying out in desperation for help. There is so much despair in the world today, people need to stand up and help their neighbor, their friend or a stranger.
